Trickle charge on the battery using a modern charger to give you control over voltage. Barring that, consider removing the battery. I guess covering the car depends on where you are located and expected snow. I've also heard that the tires get flat spots from sitting, so you at least want to keep them inflated, and almost overinflated. In reality, you might just want to drive the car around once a week or so until the engine is warmed up. My 2008 Turbo-X has a engine temperature gauge. Conventional wisdom for those used to be to let the needle come up until the thermostat opens, the needle drops, and then let the needle come back up, but I don't know if that applies to modern instruments.
