Husqvarna owns Poulan now and some of their products are made in Arkansas at the old Poulan plant. Some of their chainsaws though, are still made (assembled) in Sweden. But I cannot guarantee the origin of the parts as being Swedish in manufacture.
Their tractor line, IIRC, is now part of American Yard Products, and I believe they (AYP)are now a subsidiary of MTD. Husqvarna owns the rights to MTD or owns them outright worldwide, I think.
Either way, husky products are great products and rated very highly, as you have said. I would not buy based upon a possible country of origin, but on quality and reliability. Reviews are a good way to determine that to a point. If all review are stellar, fantastic. If all reviews point to one particular flaw, you can assume it's there. If there are mixed reviews, it is almost personal preference....
