I drove my '62 Falcon for two years with a weird idle I could not fix. Finally - thousands of miles later - chased it down to #6 having no compression. Whoops! Swapped in a 200 from a '68 Mustang about a year ago, and it's been a pleasure to drive ever since.
In November, I got experimental and installed an EDIS system from a 1996 Ranger and netted a double digit improvement in fuel economy. I am regularly seeing close to 30mpg in a 50 year old car with a 45 year old engine. Sure, I am dead if I get hit by a Chevy Sonic, but it has to catch me first. 100hp moves a 2400lb car just fine. ;)
