9-4x vs 9-7x Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Thu, 17 Oct 2013 07:24:19 In Reply to: Not Quite, Bitter, Wed, 16 Oct 2013 21:38:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I think there is quite a difference there. I don't think it is as easy to mock the 9-4x as the 9-7x... The 9-4x is scaled much more like a Saab SUV should be (both in size and power plant) and, though built in Mexico along side its brethren, it is much more Saab designed inside and out. The 9-7x used big non-turbo GM engines, and though the body work was different, the back end (even the tail lights) shared a lot with the chevy version. The interior also had lots of shared parts at the touchy feely level... like seats and steering wheel... the one we looked at looked like they installed a key in the center after the fact. The badge engineering was clearly evident. That is not to say it is not good for a GMT360 vehicle - I'm sure it is great... but really nothing in common at all with a c900 or 9000 except the badge!
