I attached a comparison photo below which shows the difference in underside reinforcement between the 8,000 and 12,000 pound capacity ramps. I had a pair of 8,000 pound capacity units start to split from fatigue/loading so I trashed them when I noticed the damage, replaced them with higher capacity units, and inspect them prior to each use. The Rhinos are stored separately from the wood adapters so I can inspect the ramps prior to slipping them into place. In the photo you can see how the head wall of the 8,000 pound ramps split adjacent to the reinforcing rib and then displaced.

I also have a pair of large wooden chocks used to block rolls of steel during transport. These go behind my rear wheels and the parking brake is always set.
