Apple lists their file size for 2-hour HD movie as 3.0-4.5 GB. It is the same mediocre quality just like Amazon, Google, Netflix and all other online rental places.

For comparison 1080i over-the-air broadcast for 2 hours would be 17 GB and 1080p BlueRay would be 30-50 GB.
