Back in the early '70s, we owned a lovely '64 FIAT 2300 Familiare (station wagon) with red leather Recaro seats, and the vehicle had been in Sweden and Minnesota before we acquired it, so the rear springs were ready to break loose from the chassis by the time it was 10 years old, so I made the seats into our first set of living room furniture when we bought a house. Later, however, as the family grew, we acquired a Ford van and installed the FIAT seats as second and third row seating in it. By 1985, the E-150 was nearing 175,000 miles, but those seats were still good looking enough to attract a buyer for the used van.
