The most amazing penetrant I have used is Methyl Salicylate (oil of wintergreen.) Besides being a wonderful penetrant and solvent, it chemically reacts with the iron in rust pulling it into solution. You may see it turn red as it does so. Freed a stuck piston on a 99 that had sat with a head gasket leak for 30+ years. Kroil was my favorite till I found this. Also works surprisingly well on corroded plumbing fixtures. It is available OTC from your pharmacist. Best to wear gloves and avoid skin/eye contact as it can burn when used full strength.
