I'd take the $4200 and run.
You could take the $3650, keep the car, and take all the time and hassle to get it fixed -- what's your time worth? -- but you'd still have a salvage title car with 143K miles and who knows what mechanical repairs would come after that as the car aged further.
A quick check of a major national car sales website shows a 2001 9-5 SE here in the LA area (Navy on tan) with 116K miles for $2999. There's a silver on gray/black 2001 9-5 Aero with stick in the Bay Area with 143K miles for $2995. From those numbers it appears the insurance company is being more than fair. Might be worth checking out the Navy on tan SE here in LA.
I'd take the $4200 and put it towards a much newer/lower mileage 9-3 SC. There are two on the classified boards here with low miles, though the closest is in Colorado. Or skip the whole sport combi thing altogether and put the money towards a Viggen.
