I'll throw in my 02 cents. I have two trucks, same engine, same year. I switched one to full synthetic (about 6 yrs ago) and left the other on dino oil. No leaks after the full synthetic switch. Both have about 175k to 200k miles. Other owners may have experienced oil leaks but I haven't. To me, the advantage of synthetic is greater driving distance between changes. I averaged 7500-10000 miles between synthetic oil changes. I always laugh to myself when I read owners changing full synthetic oil every 3500 miles. Also, I've read the lubricating properties of full synthetic can be brought closer to new by draining some and replacing it with new. I can't remember where I read that.
At any rate, we all have our own opinions about the "best" oil.
