I'm kind of surprised the media hasn't jumped on this with some overblown story about how today's over powered cars our putting everyone in the crosshairs of death or something. I learned to drive is a ~110hp Toyota and did some stupid stuff, but a kid today getting a hand-me-town 270hp Accord is kind of scary. Good thing young people don't get drivers licenses anymore I guess? I'm certain insurance companies would gladly raise rates with any excuse, so I guess people aren't wrecking these things (highway fatalities certainly aren't going up, though I know that's a bit different than wrecks). One thing, with stability control it's shocking hard to crash a car. I've been on a track with a car with modern stability control and while it kills the fun, it's absolutely remarkable at keeping you on the road unless you completely override the laws of physics.
