ESET has been around a long time Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Tue, 11 Nov 2014 14:16:12 In Reply to: While we're on the topic..., GFW3pedals [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 11 Nov 2014 14:03:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
ESET has a good reputation. Used to be written in assembly language for best efficiency, though I don't know if that's still the case. I've found Kaspersky to be consistently good also, but not as light weight as ESET. In general I would stay away from comprehensive internet security suites as they are very invasive and resource-intensive, just go with a good solid antivirus program.
For something free I would probably go with Bitdefender, Avira, or Panda Cloud antivirus. Not sure if AVG is still bloated, but it certainly went through a period of time a few years ago when it was pretty awful. The thing is that these products keep changing, something that was good last year might be bad today and vice versa.
