I've used QuickBooks since opening my own business in 2008. It's not perfect but is probably the best accounting solution out there for small businesses.
There are two ways of running QB, on your PC or online. I have been using the PC-based version also with a shared drive so it can be accessed by multiple PCs in the office (there are some tricks for this). Note that you have to keep all PCs updated with the same release/patches so things stay in synch. If you want to run multiple PCs accessing the server at simultaneously, you pay extra for this. If you use QB Payroll service, you are forced to upgrade to a new release every three years, which is a barely hidden way of charging you for support. Be VERY SURE to back up your company file regularly or you can get in big trouble - I have had file corruption incidents, which were possible to correct with the help of QB support staff - thankfully this has not occurred in the last few years.
For various reasons, I am strongly considering transferring to the online version; it has many advantages such as automatic remote file backup, remote access, allows multiple simultaneous users, no need to upgrade to newer versions, etc. In the future, I can see how they would like to get all of their clients converted and are currently making it economically advantageous to do so. I will look into this more thoroughly after I am done with 2014 close/taxes.
By the way, I decided to get proficient enough at this that I became a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor.
