The amount of blatant crap Lenovo has been including on their machines lately is ridiculous, and this Superfish malware really crosses the line. Read carefully what is involved and how Superfish conducts a man-in-the-middle attack on your "secure" web connections and compromises your SSL certificates which opens you up to further attack, this is some very nasty stuff.
It doesn't affect me directly since the first thing I do on any laptop is to delete the factory load and install Linux, in fact I'm writing this on a Lenovo laptop. However I've had to check my customers' recent Lenovo purchases for Superfish and remove it as needed. (Lenovo has been one of my most recommended laptop brands, but not any more.) Certainly most of the people who purchased the affected machines are just using the factory software and are being victimized.
