A California plate starting out with '6R' is a relatively new registration -- probably within the past 12 months. That could be because the car was brought in to California from out of state or because the original Calif. plate was lost or destroyed.
In the absence of a CarFax, ask the seller for service records showing service/repairs in California. A GM dealer may be able to take the VIN and find out what warranty service, if any, was performed and where.
A seven year old California car should also be relatively clean in the engine compartment and the undercarriage compared to a similar vehicle from the snow belt due to the absence of road salts, or even rain depending on where it was used.
Also, FWIW, I think AutoCheck (from Experian) are somewhat more comprehensive in the data they report and they're less expensive.
If the seller is a dealer, ask him to pay for the CarFax too.
