I drove by the store Saturday after having my new snow tires mounted and was dismayed to see the store closed and all signage removed. Last time I was in the store I asked the crew how the acquisition by Advance Auto would affect them. They were upbeat and confident there would be no store closure.
The local store that stocked Aisin Type T-IV ATF and Pentosin CHF-11s/202 hydraulic fluid on the shelves is no more.
The local store that carried a full range of quality replacement lamps, not just 47 varieties of blue and purple headlamps for Honda Civics, is closed.
The local store where the clerks would let me into the stock room to search through boxes of interior trim plastic rivet pins to find just the right ones for my Saabs is gone.
The local store that would special order Saab replacement parts with over-night delivery and reasonable prices (DIC, Gear selector switch for 9-5 auto, etc.) no longer exits.
It appears that two local CarQuest Stores have closed in the last 3-4 months. I hope Bazil has not experienced this with his store.
