Saab interior silver paint? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 1 Jan 2016 06:37:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am not sure how many Saab models use 'Aluminum' trim for their interios that is painted plastic, but I figure it is more than just the latest of the OG 9-5 models so I will post here.
My '08 9-5 Aero has the 'Aluminum' dash but the plain black plastic console cover. Saab sold this cover with a painted aluminum finish as a service part (and possibly included as part of some interior package prior to 2008MY) but then it disapeared from the parts catalogs. It has recently reappeared as an available part but at price of $250+. For a 6x9 piece of molded painted plastc!
Meanwhile, plain plastic console covers from 2006 and newer interiors are becomming available as used items from parted out 9-5s. I only need to paint one of these with the appropriate color of Silver to match the dash face plate. Hence my question.
I have a remaining can of Wurth Silver Wheel Paint sitting in the basement that I didn't use when refinishing the wheels for my Viggen last Spring. Is this the right paint? I hate to waste a can of wheel paint on an experiment.
Thanks,
