vibration at speed range any ideas

Not A SAAB but I find this is still the best message board for advise without all the garbage. I have a vw eos 67k that gives me consistent vibrations between 65-85. I feel them in the whole car but definitely through the steering wheel. The exact speed range seems to vary on a day to day basis, likely because of weather conditions.
It is not tranny/gear related occurs in 4,5,6 gear and only at those speeds. does not occur at similar RPM's in lower gears.
I have rotated the tires which didn't change anything but have not gotten them rebalanced. They have about 1/3 - 1/2 of the tread left but are wearing evenly. I am also driving on newly paved roads, so its likely not the concrete.
My suspicion is something in the suspension is either broken or vibrating at a resonance causing this. My last glance didn't show anything obviously broken besides a boot on the front suspension sway bar link. And my recent alignment was in spec after it was done.
I have a feeling if I just started to replace parts it would go away but I would like to be a little more financially cautious then that.
Any ideas, before I finally just take it in and pay someone to figure it out for me
