I haven't driven a 900 in snow but my previous 9000 was a better car in snow. Not sure what's up with the 9-5 dynamics - maybe the 9000 was heavier? One possible clue is the tires - I am running top line blizzaks for the 2nd winter but the 10 year old set of worn Pirelli's I bought used were shockingly good in the snow so I kept them for a surprising couple of winters (I was interested in the viking rims they were mounted on) . They were made in Germany and the tread and sidewall compound still looked almost new when they had to go to tire heaven - soft, shiny, compliant. That said, the Blizzaks are better on ice. And the owner's manual doesn't recommend a narrower size in 16 in.
