OK, well the 2nd place was for the Photo of the Year, had nothing to do with our speed ratings.......there isn't any 2nd place at Bonneville, you either get a land speed record or you don't......I don't think you can tell from the data posted who would be second, but I'm sure that the record certification guy would be able to tell. Or if you have all the tech inspection books from year to year, you could find out what record was reset from year to year.
The rules for competition vehicles at Bonneville are strict, you cannot start and drive the car anywhere during the time it is entered other than on the racing track surface. So, you cannot drive the car from the pits to the track or vice versa. It has to be flat towed or trailer towed, therefore the tow rope attachment. There is a pilot in the racecar when being towed, in this case, I jumped out of the car, and took the photo of the mountains in the background. The truck that tows the racecar was out of the picture frame, but it was connected to the other side of the yellow strap. Hope that answers your question.
