I'm not sure there is a leak - I have routinely pressure and vacuum tested the manifolds with no positives, and like I said the noise only presents itself at about 18psi, so I suspect the problem is somehow pressure and volume rather than just pressure alone. It's something I cannot replicate on a stationary car.
When I pulled the manifolds apart, there was oil between the flanges of the two halves, which suggested to me that if oil is being blown out the flanges, air is probably doing it. I really don't know if that's the problem, but the porting work results in a 4" square gasket with four 1" holes in it being reduced to a 1/2" diameter ring. There isn't much gasket left. I'm hoping some chemical goo can reinforce or hold it in place.
We did not get Cosworths in the US, and they cannot be certified for use on public roads in California. I have a heavily upgraded XR4Ti with its original 2.3l "Lima" four cylinder turbo (seriously, original, 300,000 miles). It's insanely fast, to be honest - not like 600hp Corvette fast, but too fast for an 2700lb '80s tin can. Although it suffers from typical old car turbo lag, highway performance is comparable to my 400hp CTS-V... the 40mph to 120mph pull is exceptional. I've had the car for 13 or 14 years now and it's still a lot of fun - despite being marketed directly against the c900, they are wildly different cars especially 30 years later. The c900 has aged far more gracefully, but the XR4Ti is much, much faster and, honestly, probably a better handler ... with similar dollar amounts spent on engine and suspension.
