I put it back together yesterday using the Permashield... sure seems like Hylomar but the solvent definitely evaporates much faster - just like a random reviewer on Amazon commented. It was definitely the right choice vs. 518, as part of the point of this operation was installing a phenolic spacer... the Permashield made a fine glue to hold the gaskets to the spacer while I installed.
Below is the gasket that may have not sealed - ignore the ragged cuts, I did some modifications post-removal to use it as a template. But, you can see how little is left of the gasket after it's been modified for the ported intake. Not much left! Maybe Permashield will make a difference. Or, maybe not. :)
