The last "car" I owned before I bought my first Saab, was an American Motors product. The dealer foisted a Ziebart treatment on me (being young and maybe a bit impressionable...), which I think cost maybe four hundred bucks back then.
Two years later when the vehicle began to rust rather alarmingly in several places, I took it to the local Ziebart place and after inspection, they refunded me my money for the rustproofing. Seems the tiny print in the Ziebart contract said they could either pay to fix the rust damage - or just refund the fee.
When I asked the salesman who sold me my 900 if I needed to add rustproofing, he made a face and said something like, "not unless you just want to waste a lot of money..." FWIW, that 900 did begin to rust - about 9 years after I bought it. At 199K miles, I figured that wasn't too bad...
