Doctor told me I have a small Baker's Cyst, too small to be the cause or significant contributor.
He suspects I have a partially torn meniscus due to a 43 year old pre-existing knee injury and type/location of current pain.
He suspects I may have arthritis based on my age.
X-Rays were taken. I have been on mega-doses of Ibuprofen since the appointment. I bought an elastic knee support which I wear at work only where I do a lot of walking over uneven ground at construction sites and also lots of stairs. I also bought cushioned insoles for my work shoes as I noticed a direct correlation between intensity of knee pain and hardness of any walking surface. Follow-up appointment in a week or so.
Pain is gone. Very obvious swelling is gone. I can again go up and down stairs in the adult manner, cautiously, rather than using the toddler technique.
Out-Patient surgery may be required to address the torn meniscus suspicion depending on what the X-Rays show.
