Post auto show thoughts
Posted by Finch (more from Finch) on Mon, 19 Mar 2018 17:54:09
Yesterday was the final day of our local auto show. I have always liked going on the last day for one reason - wear and tear. It seems that you can really tell the quality of a car's interior after 10 days of thousands of people playing with buttons and getting in and out of a car. Many, if not most, cars held up extremely well. I was especially surprised by how the the Alfa Romeo Guilia held up, and it was obviously a very popular car with the crowd surrounding it. The tan leather driver seat of the Cadillac XT5 was nearly black because the dye had worn off of the leather surface. They were literally using black duct tape to hold buttons and trim in place on the Jaguar XF wagon.
Speaking of wagons, I was pleased to see more options this year. Seems like little by little more companies are adding them to the line-up.
Most surprising/memorable car? The Buick Regal TourX. Yeah it's a wagon, but could not believe how much I liked a BUICK.
