In the U.S., Seinfeld is usually what comes to mind when thinking about Saab-driving television characters. However in the series "Diagnosis Murder", the main character ("Dr. Sloan", played by Dick Van Dyke) drives a Saab convertible. It's either a NG 900 or OG 9-3 and he is frequently seen driving it.

There's an episode where his car has a bomb set off in it and you can see the burning car used by the studio is (unfortunately) a C900 convertible. At the time it was probably the cheapest and most expedient way for them to film that scene.
