On Feb 9, 2020, my Red 2-door, 1999 9-3 coupe was stolen in Surrey, BC, Canada during the day. The car was in superb shape for it's age, and in the past 4 years, I had given it an extensive mechanical renewal and upgrade, including full turbo-back performance SS exhaust, full D088 intake, including intercooler, new Koni sport shocks and lowering springs, PU bushing replacement for the front, rear swaybar and steering rack brace upgrade, and new brakes, among various improvements.
In the 3 weeks since, there has been no sign of it anywhere. If anyone sees any sign of it, for sale, or otherwise, please either contact your local police, the Canadian RCMP, or myself. The Canadian RCMP file is 2020-20835. I bought the car new, together with my Dad, in the Fall of 1998, and have kept great care of it over the last 21.5 years. The car was running as good, or better, than new, and was truly a passion of mine. They simply don't make cars this good anymore, as many of you know.
The car also had steel winter wheels, and brand new Nokian Hakapelittas with wheel covers when it was stolen. I had also replaced the intercooler and all intake and coolant pipes and hoses with red DO88 ones.
The plates on the car were BC Collector plates OM4-604 .
My Saab was in excellent shape, considering its age and km driven. I believe it to be one of the only (or very few) red 2 door 1999 9-3s with standard transmission in the Vancouver area, or BC, for that matter. It is a rather rare car, in that sense. It has a beige, leather interior, and a factory cassette deck up front, with a Saab 6CD player in the trunk. It also had a complete set of Saab rubber floor and trunk mats throughout.
The VIN # is YS3DD35N6X2022409
I have strong reason to believe that my car was stolen by a "professional", although I usually tend to use other words than that. I also believe that there may be attempts to sell my car on the international marketplace, as selling it in North America would prove to be difficult.
Any help leading to its return would be immensely appreciated.
