Sorry, I mis-read your post. But you bring up a good point. If you look at the 1967 Press Information packet that is on the site here:

You'll see that Saab marketing itself back then used SAAB. Later, at some point, and I just can't locate it, Saab marketing actually announced that they would be using "Saab" from that point forward in their marketing although it was still SAAB in the Griffin logo.
In the 1972 Press Information packet, they are using "Saab" instead of "SAAB", but I know the announcement I am talking about came after I started The Saab Network in 1988.

So really, both are correct and it's just up to the writer. In general, I went with the marketing edict and use "Saab" here on The Saab Network although, as you can see, I use all caps in the logo, "THE SAAB NETWORK".
