I have created 2 Virtualbox Appliances pre-installed and pre-configured with Saab software. Both have TIS2000 installed and are confirmed to work with a USB-RS232/DB9 adapter to provide "Security Access" for programming keys, etc. So this solution will work into the future without the need for a dedicated machine with a RS232/DB9 port running XP.
The reason for the 2 different appliances is because I could not get GlobalTIS working in the W10 appliance.
Saab Virtualbox Appliance Downloads
saab-xp.ova: Windows XP download (7.7GB: GlobalTIS + TIS2000 + WIS + EPC)
saab-w10-32.ova: Windows 10 32-bit download (12.5GB: TIS2000 + WIS + EPC - NO GlobalTIS)
XP VM Login Credentials

W10 VM Login Credentials

password: saab.123
Note there is a .md5 file for each Appliance to confirm your download isn't corrupted.
To install the .ova, you need to install VirtualBox + VirtualBox Extension Pack, then you should be able to either "double click" or from Virtualbox choose "File > Import Appliance".
You can find a list of USB adapters that should work from Tech2Wiki. My working FTDI chipset USB-RS232/DB9 adapter purchased on Amazon. Note that if you have a different one, you may need to install a driver for the VM to recognize it (especially in XP - W10 may install the driver automatically from online).
VirtualBox Downloads (Make sure and also install the "Extension Pack" - note I created the VM with VB 6.1.38 in Ubuntu 22.04, but I don't think there will be any problem with newer versions of Virtualbox for Windows, Mac, or Linux)
