Empire State Games (NY) 20K Cycling Race Results from yesterday: It was a very tactical race through the first 4 miles and I didn't want a medal to come down to a sprint because I wouldn't win a sprint, so I took the lead just after 4 miles and started pushing it hard. I still got passed but I finished the final 2 mile uphill (the very end of the race was a 6.2% uphill grade) in the 4th best time of anyone in 2024 at an average 21.5 mph and snagged a bronze medal (to hang next to my silver medal from the ESG in 1985 - 1500 meters track)!

I also noticed a nice Saab wagon there and stopped to chat with Robert (who did 3 races that day 5K, 10K, 20K) and his wife Marie! He also owns a low mileage 9-3 Convertible.
