Howdy Folks.
Finally located & bought a Nissan Rogue located in MD (I'm in VT).

Being a member of car enthusiast sites - which had recommended Montway's services, I feel an obligation to tell other members what ACTUALLY took place.

What follows is a digest of my actual experiences.

It is a shame that well intentioned truckers must have to deal with the fallout of such extreme callousness & incompetence.

It all seemed so simple to start with - but it certainly was NOT simple.

1st problem: They refused a perfectly good CC as payment & after much BS I used the SAME exact card via PP. Then they 'worked on' assigning a driver for pickup.

After some days they assigned a pickup for 4/5.

2nd problem: The numbers for the driver & dispatcher were totally screwed up.

3rd problem: When I finally spoke with the trucking dispatcher he told me the order for 4/5 came in but was then cancelled by Montway on 4/4.

4th problem: Montway did NOT notify of the cancellation so the seller waited most of a day for a non-existent pickup.

I then contacted Montway & demanded results - to which they replied that for $100 more they could get an enclosed truck there on 4/5.

I was enraged, and said so !! They then offered a compromise of $50 instead - which I took so as to keep things moving.

5th problem: Their system once again could not do the CC - so I had to send them the additional $50 via PP.

6th problem: Yes, they got the $50 - but they then demanded an email reply saying only 'I accept' - which I sent immediately.

7th problem:
2 hours later they repeated that demand saying my email had NOT come in - so I complied, of course & re-sent it.

8th problem:
1 hour+ later & still no confirmation details have been provided - as if they lost the 2nd email too ?!?

9th problem:
2 hours later they AGAIN repeated that demand saying my email had NOT come in - from a gmail address - sounded like BS to me.

10th problem: Still they say no email & demanded a screenshot, which I sent & then they said it must be escalated before any correction(s) can or may be made.

11th, 2 part problem: After wasting even more time on their 'live chat' they demanded Email address verification AGAIN just to send a transcript.

12th problem: Montway was 'sposed to send me a link to a status page & never did.

This drama all began 4/5 in the AM with the no-show, the car was finally picked up ~7PM & was said (by the trucker) to arrive monday or tuesday.

My comment based upon the glowing recommendations online vs. the general failures of Montway for this shipment: Sometime in recent years they must have outsourced ALL their systems & customer services & now their quality belongs in a dumpster.

I reserve final judgement until the actual delivery has come - but so far my impression of this company is very poor.

Finally, after much time, effort & sheer nonsense the car arrived...nearby.

The trucker barely spoke english & unloaded it 1/2 mile away. Fortunately he was willing to drive it here for me. He took pics & made notes then I drove him back to his rig.

Lessons learned: 1 - Montway is a broker & NOT an actual shipper - so it is apparent that they hire whomever they can take the highest cut from;

2 - Hiring an ACTUAL shipper is very, very important;

3 - Assess any potential shipper very carefully before using them.
