It sound like you have a fuel pressure problem. The problem is in either the fuel pump one way valve or the fuel pressure regulator's one way valve. The purpose of both is to hold fuel pressure when the engine is shut off. This prevents vapor lock(when pressure is added to a liquid, the boiling point is raised).
