I've got a '72 Dodge pick-up that my dad bought new. Five years ago a tree fell on it and the bed was smashed. The 3/4-Ton frame is straight as a pin and even the step bumper on the rear was not damaged. Of course it is "Totaled" because the estimated cost of replacing the bed and painting it to match the body was more than what the insurance company valued the vehicle at. I put a new engine in it and recently turned over 200,000 miles. There are certainly well-documented dangers in buying a "totaled" car that has been reconstructed by welding half of two cars together, but I think many cars that are totaled are still safe to drive. They just cost more to fix to "like new" condition than the insurance company is willing to pay. The insurance companies won't allow an estimate that returns a vehicle to servicable, but not factory fresh, condition. In the case of Ryuta's car, I would make certain that the wheel alignment is not effected by the body/frame damage, thus causing major tire wear and possibly problems with the suspensions ability to function properly. If those things aren't effected, you can probably continue driving the car until you can get the body/frame repairs done.
