Guilford ,CT service, cheaper cars to service?

Anyone here use the service dept at Guilford (CT )SAAB? I usually go to a indy garage in Windam (near Storrs, where I attend UConn) which is good (Hoffman Motors) and I used to before that go to New Age in Branford (great place) but that takes me about a half hour to get to (from Old Lyme), and I figure Guilford, being a bigger shop may get me in earlier. Anyone use them, know what their rates are? More expensive?
My 89 900 T has a ghost in the electrical/ignition or charging system which no one's yet found, which occasionally leads to complete immobilization (ie: no starts, needs jump) Battery's new, and it's happened before but always behaves for the mechanics!!
It's time for a new car, but I can't afford one. I need something more dependable, and my panhard bracket is starting to rust... I really hate to say this but it may not be a Saab. not at leaast untill i can afford the repairs. I currently spend $300 to $600 everytime I enter the shop. But I don't have the fulltime job to get a loan and be able to pay it off.
Anyone own an A4 or know how it's service costs compare to a Saab.
I'd prefer a Saab, but I'm quite seduced by AWD...
Opinions?
thanks,
~bc
ps--damn it SAAB...small/midsized sports wagons with AWD priced at $22K with 200bhp and 6 gears.... Just do it already!!!)
