So you want to be a SAAB Mechanic eh? Enrole in a technical school that has an automotive program. The other rout is to work at a GM dealer and have them sponsor you in the GM ASEP(automotive service education program) program at the local technical college. This program is 2 years in legnth. However, to be accepted You'll have to meet the SAT standards they have(don't know off the top of my head). When you graduate, you'll have an associate degree in automotive and you'll be able to read and write(Along with the automotive program, they have regular college academic programs). Saab also is involved in the GM ASEP program in certin areas of the United States. What you learn in the GM ASEP Program you can easily adapt to SAAB.
The automotive industry is short on good technicians so finding a job won't be a problem. If you go the ASEP rout, they'll be lining up taking numbers for you. Anotherthing, tools are expensive, start saving now! If you have further questions, contact me at walduc@hotmail.com.
