Saab has the worst advertising I have ever heard of for a car. I've studied advertising but it doesnt take anything like that to figure out how bad this is. I live in the NYC metro area and hear TONS of radio ads all the time. But guess what, it's with a boring sounding guy saying boring things. "People who usually test drive a saab usually buy one" Apparently NOT! What kind of catch line is that? Find your own road is JUST AS BAD. The radio commercials are extremely easy to ignore or tune out of and I've seen these POOR excueses for cable TV commercials. They look like they were made by a freshman college student who just got his hands on Adobe After effects! I saw one with the scrolling stuff and the boost gauge and whatever. It was LAME! Look at Nissan's new ads! They started with that Maxima commercial which totally makes that lame family car look like a blast! Look at thier Pathfinder commercials and that new supercharged pickup! Those are cutting edge, exciting ads which emphisize the FUN FACTOR of the cars! They look WILD and appeal to younger people as well as older. Although we may find the VW/Honda ads cheezy, they are creating a great image for themselves. I agree with the guy who posted the old Saab ads. Look at the one with the hill jumper! Those ads look like PERFORMANCE/FUN/SPORTS cars! Saab has the image of being a SNOB/Yuppie mobile! I can hardly look at the NG saabs as sports cars. For god's sake.. VOLVO is looking sporty now and look where they were 10 years ago and where saab was. It was almost totally reversed. That whole Saab VS shite was TERRIBLE... who the hell even understood the point? It wasnt making me want to buy the car.. it made me want to turn the page. I could go on and on... I hope someone can see this my way. Saab is selling cars to 50+ at this point unless the younger people have had previous experienec with saab.
