WHAT marketing ? I don't hear radio ads here in N.C. but admit I rarely listen to anything other than CDs or NPR. I don't see ANY TV ads, and I rarely see a print ad (the mags I get are AutoWeek, F1 Racing, LeMans and SportsCar Racer so it's doubtful I'd see the mainstream ads anyway). GM has a great chance to throw some serious monetary muscle behind Saab advertising, and do a lot for the marque's sales and image, but I don't think GM is smart enough to get out of its own way. HOW could any self-respecting company have let the Aztec get anywhere off a drawing table, let alone into a CAD system and through a manufacturing process. We bought the Aero because it's a wonderful car, gorgeous, fast, comfortable, ergonomically sound, etc etc etc.
In my humble opinion the best cars FOR THE MONEY are Saab,VW and Audi. You'll notice that I don't include Japanese vehicles, they're good, some are very good, but I'm a Euro-bigot when it comes to cars. VW and Audi (at least when they started using ALMS footage in their ads ;-) are doing a good job of advertising. Saab could do so much better. I used to have more Alfa's, still have one. That marque pulled out of the country because they never learned how to position and market their products, they should have brought the 156, GTV and new Spider here, I'd be driving one of them.
