Enzymes are like what moisture is to metal. Moisture speeds up the rusting process in our beloved saabs. Likewise enzymes speed up biological reactions in living organsims. These reactions are usually very desirable ie alpah amalase significantly speeds up the break down the food you eat into useful stuff like sugars. The enzymes your body produces are extremely well regulated with only the exact amounts (of each of the thousands of enzymes) being produced at exactly the right time. Eating a spoonful of yoghurt is not an exact amount and is definatley not carefully timed...(but the yoghurt is still good for you, but for other reasons)
Any fresh food from a living organism (plant or animial) will contain thousands of different enzymes. As saabaru said an enzyme is simply a protien... eg your saliva contains about 10 different enzymes and you swallow this every day. Haemoglobin is an enzyme. When meat goes off it is largely because the enzymes in the meat start to break it down, same for many vegies. Honey is full of enzymes and some hormones (bee hormones to make baby bees nice and healthy :-)
I would be very suspect is someone was claiming enzymes were good for you....they are!!! but only because they are protien and protien is food. Also there are millions of diff enzymes....which one are you eating??..you never know unless they tell you.
Anyway what the hell does this have to do with saabs???
