It's times of pain when you find out who your friends really are,
"And Dutch Foreign minister Jozias van Aartsen said it was far too early to contemplate whether the attacks in New York and Washington could be considered attack on all NATO nations." - Oh really, what about Article V of the NATO charter. This declares an attack on any member of the alliance is to be considered an attack on all of them.
And then, "As the allied ambassadors took up the proposition, a senior U.S. official told The Associated Press its adoption would be a strong show of support." Right, they'll devalue the dollar while raising the Euro! Thanks for your support.
"But the official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it would not necessarily mean the allies would provide military units to counter terrorism along with the United States." What the f_ck? And the coward won't even say his name, but I'll give him an American one: Benedict Arnold.
Is the NATO charter only to have the U.S. protect, fight and die when European nations are in trouble or in need of more resources? What is there to contemplate? How to turn their yellow stars (EU flag) into badges of courage and honor? How to say "Thank you for 80 years of fighting for us, rebuilding our self-created destrucion and financing our economies"?
Some frienship.
I'm not attacking the people of Europe, but specifically it's leaders who continue to criticize, belittle and now betray the U.S., yet have open arms to the U.S. dollar and military might.
Thank the Canadians who have been offering real support.
Sorry for the rant, but coming from a family who served in Europe and died their during WWI and WWII, I'd would expect a firm declaration of support (militarily and morally) from our EU allies.
