......are bound to get the worst of the salt problems. Us Prairie types will never had the challenges of keeping a car rust-free that you do. It is a testimonial of significance that a car can last in the Maritimes and along the St Lawrence River beyond, say, ten/fifteen years.
In Canada, the best old cars are in Saskatchewan. Even the interiors can last a long time with minimal care.
Oh......for Vladimir and his winter upkeep: You can go with a special water-holding floor mat at least on the driver's side. Best to take out the summer mats altogether and put in beater-mats or new, water-holding mats all-round depending on use. Having said that, the fabrics on the floor of a Saab are hi-tech and easily cleanable. Best to keep them as dry as possible, however, as carpets are water traps for the moisture you drag in on your feet.
