The battery has a 2 gauge power wire running to the starter. Then 8 gauge to the alternator.
Okay
The ground is 2 gauge from the battery to the center frame rail by the spare tire.
Not okay. Run the ground to one of the seat belt mounting bolts. These go into solid metal. The center frame rail is to light and not well connected to the rest of the car.
I also have a 2 gauge ground going from the tranny to the stock location in the front frame.
Okay.
I checked the Ohm's between the engine and battery and it is around 3 Ohms.
This seems okay
Not okay. But may actually be depending on the meter you are using. You could be just measuring the resistance of your test leads.
I'm thinking of just running a 2 gauge ground wire from the battery to the front frame.
Any opinions, or ideas?
Not necessary. See above.
One more thing, how does electricity flow in the car. When starting the car, does power come through the ground then to the starter through the red wire back to the battery. Or does it come from the red power wire and then go through the ground, back to the battery.
Are we talking how current flows in the Navy or the rest of the world? Actually that is not a joke. The US Navy used to teach electron flow which goes from negative to positive while the rest of the world uses current flow which is from positive to negative. During starting, power goes from the battery to the starter. Once the car is running, the alternator flows power back to recharge the battery. There has to be a complete circle from the positive side of the battery to the negative side of the battery for anything to work. Try the reconnection of the battery ground first and be sure to use a longer bolt on the seat belt to get full thread engagement.
