Geez yeah! It seemed like we were getting a recall notice from SAAB every few weeks for months after buying our 94 900. Based on many years around SAABs I don't think it is accurate to say SAAB fails to perform necessary recalls.
That said I think you always need to be on guard no matter the company involved and perhaps SAAB hasn't always made the right call on many issues and there may be areas of concern. However, contrary to what your suggesting, SAAB doesn't seem to be doing it worse than others or to be showing utter disregard. I think this is part of what people are jumping on. The other point people are making that your missing is that owners have some responsibility too. Without proper attention and maintenance aging products, especially cars, can be very hazardous. I am not saying companies couldn't do better. More recalls in some cases and just bringing areas of concern to owners attention in others but you can't expect them to follow you around all the time to check your tire pressure and make sure the brake lights are burning bright.
