The issue is my 86 900s, 4 Cylinder, 16 valve, electronic fuel injected, DOHC engine: reference L4 - 2.0L - 1985cc - F/1VIN J. I have the Bentley on order. However, I need to replace the distributor, dist. cap, rotor, spark plugs, plug wires and thermostat. Out of those items, only one (the spark plugs)is identified by number in the owners manual.
( MY REQUESTs )
Can anyone point me in the direction were i may locate the Saab suggested brand(s) and model or part numbers. One primary reason I am interested in this info is when calling to locate and price these items, I was given an arrey of products, pricing and availability. This also holds true when I searched the internet.

(SECONDLY)
This will be my first attempt to change out a part that I believe I could screw up and possibly do more damage. I have been told to disconnect the first plug wire, remove the plug and insert a screw drive in its place, mark (with tape or white out) each plug and where it came from in the distributor as to retain the proper firing order and have had the "notch" on the rim of the distributor pointed out to me as a referance? Are there any other items I may want to be aware of or look out for...yes, I will doing this sober :) Thanx in advance for all of your collective knowledge.
P.S. I hope everyone caught those unbelievable AZ DIAMONDBACKS capture the WORLD SERIES? It was quite a celabration here in Phoenix.

Thanx again,

Todd in Phoenix
