Funny, I just donated my boat .. ah .. I mean Ford Taurus after I acquired my 01 9-3SE :-)) I checked out a number of charity before deciding on Volunteers of America. One thing I like about it is they will transfer your titile to their name before auctioning it off. It might not sounds like much but I would like to keep my name/address info private. On their national web page (http://www.voa.org) it doesn't mention anything about vechile donation but you can hunt down their local chapter in the yellow page or the web, they will come pick it up.
I don't know what state you are in, but if you have a window type registration sticker, make sure you REMOVE it and return the plate to your local DMV right away. A friend of mine got some parking ticket after he donated his car to a local charity. He found out later the towing company that picked up the car just parked it on the street before sending it to the auction house and it racked up about half a dozen tickets. Good thing he turned in the plate the before they pick up the car but he still have to go to court to clear up the mess. You can't be too careful nowaday.
