I have a '92 900 turbo convertible. I got it out of a salvage yard with 171,xxx miles on it & a bad transmition. I replaced the auto tranny & the car has been great since. Now up to 191,xxx miles on it.

The only 'common bad' I think I see is with the cruise control. In my unscientific opinion there seems to be a lot of bad cruise control circuit boards in the '92 900's. Some have resoldered theirs, most do without, & some have spent the money for a new c.c. E.C.U (brain). If the cruise doesn't work I would assume the worst & hope it's only a cracked vacuum line.

Also, it's time for the '92 900's to have their airbags in for the recommended 10 year check up. I am sure that is expensive.

2 bargaining chips for you. All said I think you should feel comfortable with '92's.
