My best bud had a 71 coupe de ville, it was a great car. Sometimes a bit ponderous, but overall a fun but clumsy car. and reliable like a doorstop. He did have to get the carburetor adjusted all the time, but it was certainly better than the dual strombergs in my old volvo 142s. lots of power, lots of comfort, lots of space, and a helluva lot of campy style. Unfortunately, the 80's caddys had that terrible 4100 V8, which self destructed in short order. I have not driven a newer caddy, as they just lost the boat with their new stuff.... V8 FWD????? Whats the point? and they definately lost on the style thing. Old ones are forever classy looking, if bloated. new ones are still bloated, but no class. I dont know what they are going for, or who they want to sell the damn things to.
