and own hunting rifles and shotguns, I have to agree with Caspar that an increase in gun circulation leads to more armed criminals. Then there's also the problem with kids and guns.

Here in Denmark for example it is practically impossible for a kid to get hold of a gun. Did you know that the leading cause of death in the States of young people between 10 and 30 is gunshot wounds?

Did you also know that an alarming number of people are being killed with their own guns in the hands of assailants??

The whole argument that armed citizens will scare criminals and stop them from committing crimes is silly. It just makes the criminal more willing to shoot first. It just makes the stakes higher. Instead of risking your valuables in a burglary you're putting your life on the line. I know that the feeling of a gun in your pocket makes you feel safe and invincible, but it's just that, a feeling, and not reality.
