Got my notice last week, too. I feel the same way about their value comparison -- I find it insulting. However, the thing that really bothers me is that they do not give any details about what's *really* included in the cost. Do they just call the tow truck for free, and then *you* pay for for the tow? Or is the tow also free? If so, how far will they tow free? How can you really compare value without this data? How can I tell if it's worth $17/mo for this, when I can already call other roadside assistance with my cell phone? (As a sucker for safety, I'll probably do the $199 plan anyway, but I'm doing it feeling like a sucker, pissed off at OnStar, rather than feeling like an informed consumer getting a good value.) This is just one example. I didn't see any info on their website either. I guess the only way to get the details is to call.
