All I know is:
(a) Gretzky's comments are an intangible so you have no way of measuring how much they impacted the team for the winn against the Finn
(b) 'old' player Yzerman scored the winning goal over the Finn
(c) Lindros is hurt
(d) Lemieux is playing hurt
(e) Shanahan can't seem to hit the net but is getting chances
(f) Canada has now officially been dubbed a 'team' by Kelly
Hrudey and Don Cherry, not that this makes them a team. Perhaps they will get some practice <<as a team>> against Belarus while Russia and the US play.
(g) if memory serves, Fleury has one of the higest game winning
goal counts of any NHL hockey player no matter how you think of him
(h) Canada has Joe Nieuwendyk and Team USA and Team Russia do not. Fleury and Nieuwendyk played together on a Stanley Cup winning team. They combined for a tremendous goal output over those seasons.
(i) the Canada - Finland game was a better game than the highly touted
Russia-US 2-2 tie
(j) Hamrlick will get his during the regular NHL season
May the best team win the gold.
I personally just lost respect for your sense of respect for who might have been the best hockey player ever and his abilities as a team executive.
