I'm a first-year law student here at IU and have enjoyed seeing the Hoosiers make this wonderful run through the tournament. No one ever picks them as favorites and they love it.

Anyway, I have a good friend that is close with Coach Mike Davis and most of the players on the team. He was in town last week and took me to a couple of the closed practices. After one of the practices, Coach Davis and Jared Jeffries were stranded at Assembly Hall as their anticipated rides called to cancel (Coach's wife's got stuck doing an interview at home and Jared's dad had a bowling tournament). They asked if I could do them a favor and give them rides home.... so there I was, in my convertible Saab with my buddy in the back sitting next to Coach Davis and me in the front with Jeffries next to me. The top was up as it was too cold and Coach's and Jeffries' heads were scraping the top. Jeffries is probably close to 6'10" and Coach is about 6'5". Needless to say, there wasn't a whole lot of room to move around in.

Anyway, they both LOVED my car and made endless observations about it. Coach said it was a "classy ride" and Jared thought it was "tight". Both were amazed at the acceleration--despite the extra weight due to their presence. Jared came over to my condo a couple of nights later to pick up my buddy for dinner. He was with two of the other players--George Leach and Jeff Newton--and they asked (half-jokingly) if they could take my car to dinner. They really liked it and wanted me to put the top down so they could see what it looks like in the summer. Too bad it was raining.

I know this is kind of a silly thing to post but reading the earlier post about the Hoosiers made me think that someone might enjoy knowing that IU's team seems to have an admiration for us Saab owners....

GO HOOSIERS!!!!! I'd like a campus-wide holiday on Tuesday.... God knows I'll be in no condition for class that morning......
